Sara has been practicing law for over 10 years. She provides advice on all aspects of privacy and freedom of information law to clients in both the business and non-profit sectors, including strategic advice during critical privacy incidents and privacy compliance assessments and analysis. Sara has acted for large IT companies, hospitals, transportation companies, charitable organizations and others. A former civil litigator, she has appeared before various Boards and Tribunals and at all levels of the Ontario Court. She teaches lawyers, writes extensively on privacy law issues, and appears on radio to discuss privacy law.
Sara's experience practicing law is supplemented by her unique practical experience. From January 2003 until February 2007, Sara served as Regional Privacy Officer for Fasken Martineau DuMoulin, with responsibility for developing and implementing a nationwide privacy compliance program.
